Home Page Widgets not Appearing

Hi, thank you for your theme it’s excellent however I’m having trouble getting the home page widgets too appear. I’ve added sample clients and testimonials and have added both widgets to the home page widget section but the only thing that shows up under the slider is the page that I’ve set as the static home page. I’ve read through the documentation and can’t see what I’m doing wrong but am obviously overlooking something. Can you suggest any reason why this is happening please?
